DXCC Info & Extra QRZ Lookup Results
At the bottom section of the QSO entry window, you’ll find two informational tabs that display additional data about the worked station.
This information is automatically retrieved as soon as a callsign is entered and recognized.
🌍 DXCC Info
The DXCC Info tab provides geographical and zone-related details based on the entered callsign.
The data is derived from the official DXCC database, supplemented with information from cty.dat.
What it shows:
-
Country and Continent – e.g. Netherlands (Europe)
-
Zones – displays both CQ Zone and ITU Zone for the DXCC entity
(in this example: CQ: 14, ITU: 27) -
Distance – the distance between your station and the contacted station, shown in kilometers and miles
(calculated automatically from both QTH locators) -
Heading – the direction toward the contacted station:
-
SP (Short Path) – the shortest beam heading in degrees from your location
-
LP (Long Path) – the opposite direction via the long propagation route
-
💡 This information is especially useful for antenna alignment, propagation analysis,
and determining geographical zones for awards or contests.
🔎 Extra QRZ Lookup Results
The Extra QRZ Lookup Results tab provides additional data retrieved from QRZ.com,
beyond the basic operator name displayed in the main QSO entry area.
Here you may find:
-
Full address details (street, city, state, country)
-
QSL information (e.g. “QSL via bureau” or “direct only”)
-
Email address or personal website (if publicly available)
-
Optional biography or notes from the operator’s QRZ profile
💡 This information is only available if you have entered your QRZ API key
and enabled Upload to QRZ in your Station Setup window.
MiniBook uses the QRZ API not only to upload your QSOs,
but also to retrieve extended data about the contacted station — enriching your logbook with more context.
