Why I Decided to Make MiniBook Public
When I first started building MiniBook, it was just a personal project — a lightweight, no-nonsense logbook that did exactly what I needed without all the clutter of bigger applications. I never really planned to release the source publicly.
But as the project grew, I ran into some concerns when compiling MiniBook into an executable file. Security issues and false virus detections made me rethink the approach. That’s when I decided to keep things open and transparent.
By releasing MiniBook as an open-source Python project, not only do I avoid those security issues, but it also opens the door for others to contribute. Whether you’re a developer, a ham radio enthusiast, or just someone with a good idea — you’re more than welcome to get involved.
MiniBook is now out there, available for anyone who wants a simple, portable logbook. And who knows? With your help, it might just become even better.
